About Natalia Corazza

Inspired by her connections to the landscapes of Colombia and California, Natalia Corazza creates mystical sceneries that evoke the profound longing inherent in our desires. Her paintings explore the supernatural, where logic and reason dissolve in the face of impermanence. Through symbols such as birds in flight, celestial bodies, and delicate figures, Corazza’s work reflects both the grief and beauty of life’s transience, revealing the vulnerability that arises when we seek meaning and connection in an ever-changing world.
Her subjects, immersed in fluid, dreamlike landscapes, look both inward and outward for guidance, finding comfort in the unknown through faith, imagination, and introspection. With an emphasis on gaze, touch, light, and transparency, Corazza’s paintings invite us to embrace the transcendent and the unknown—offering us a space to surrender to delusion, indulge in midnight temptation, and discover purpose through creativity. Her work empowers the viewer to transform longing into self-expression, encouraging them to become the creator of their own story and to find fulfillment in the midst of uncertainty.

Born and raised in California, Natalia Corazza was raised in a Colombian-American household. Throughout her adolescence she reconnected with her heritage over the summer visits to her father’s nature reserve residing in the Colombian countryside, which has largely influenced her art and identity. Corazza received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from California College of the Arts in 2019 and returned to her hometown of Monterey when the COVID-19 pandemic surged in 2020. Since then she has exhibited her work in group shows in San Francisco, Monterey, Texas, and virtually. In 2021, Corazza created and exhibited a body of work influenced by the surreal dreamlike landscape of the Colombian forest at AguaViva Reserva Natural. The exhibit was then displayed in California in her return to the States. An expansion of her series led her to her debut solo show Always Never, Nunca Siempre at the Marjorie Evans Gallery at the Sunset Center in Carmel in 2022. Her dedication to public art and art education has followed her between California and Colombia, having led artist workshops, participated in artist talks and panels, and collaborated with other artists on murals, most especially with La Neta Murals, which she co founded with four other artists in 2020. In 2021, Corazza received the LEAP award from the Arts Council for Monterey County, which helped her launch her career and motivated her to help other artists grow. As of August 2021, Corazza is an artist mentor at the Youth Arts Collective in Monterey, where she attended as a student in her high school and college years. Corazza was awarded the 2023 Individual Artist Fellowship as an Emerging Artist for the Central California Region by the California Arts Council.
